Callidus Design has been appointed by Exova Limited to carry out investigations into electrical overloading problems at their Edinburgh premises. The appointment requires that Callidus Design obtain a detailed understanding of the electrical infrastructure for the building via a series of surveys, as well as monitoring of power consumption at various locations throughout the building. Recommendations for avoidance of the electrical overload problems via a series of reports is currently ongoing and includes proposals for implementing more energy efficient practices within their day to day operations and other potential options to reduce power usage within their premises. The proposals are all designed to minimise their current energy usage and therefore avoid the need for any costly upgrade to their existing site power supply.
