Callidus Design has been appointed by the University of St Andrews to carry out the services design for their new Geosciences Laboratories in the Purdie Building, North Haugh campus. The laboratories are required to be designed to ISO 7 (Class 10K) to prevent airborne contamination adversely affecting the research. In particular, the presence of Boron is particularly detrimental to the research and therefore all building fabric and services components require to be specified and carefully selected to ensure they are Boron-free. This includes the manufacture of bespoke Boron-free HEPA filters for the Air Handling Units required to achieve the cleanliness requirements of the brief. The works will take place whilst the building remains live with minimum disruption to ongoing activities. Read more here...
