Backup Power Supply Design
Electrical distribution systems are regularly designed to incorporate generators. Designs can either be based on Prime Rated generator sets or Standby Power generator sets.
Prime power rated generators are used in applications where the user does not purchase power from a public utility.
Standby power rated generators are the most commonly rated generator sets. Their primary application is to supply emergency power for a limited duration during a power outage. The electrical distribution systems can be designed to allow the generator to operate in parallel with the mains supply or stand alone.
Designs can be based around a open generator set within a purpose built plantroom or a containerised set with the appropriate acoustic attenuation enclosure.
