UoSA – St Regulus Hall Boiler Replacement
Callidus Design has been appointed by the University of St Andrews (UoSA) to design the mechanical and electrical building services for the replacement of the existing boiler plant at St Regulus Hall, a student accommodation facility. The existing boiler plant is now of a significant age and in need of replacement due to ongoing reliability problems. The existing domestic hot water (DHW) calorifier installations which are currently served by the boiler plant with low temperature hot water (LTHW) are to be retained, however modifications are proposed to the associated plate heat exchanger installations to reduce the calorifier recovery time. Whilst carrying out the boiler replacement works, the existing circulation pumps associated with the LTHW installation and the DHW installation will also be replaced.
